Graey Thruster Replacement- 5/10/2026

During the testing station held this previous week, we noticed that there was an issue with thruster three on Graey. When the thruster is placed underwater, stuttering occurs, and no rotation occurs. Once we removed the 3-pin blue trail cobalt connector from the enclosure, the team noticed that the O-ring was missing on thruster 3 and the remaining thruster connections. Luckily, the internal components were not damaged, but our team took the opportunity to learn and improve.

In order to unit test which component eroded on Graey, the thruster or esc, a test plan was created to unit test the esc on a proven capable T-200 thruster. Once we tested the esc and saw no issues, we deduced that the thruster was faulty, leading the team to pivot to potting a new connector.
